The Day My Life Changed! AKA: Election Day

Well, November 4th 2008 was a HUGE day.  I voted via absentee ballot 2 weeks before--and the whole day I was excited about the election.  That evening a bunch of us sat in the lounge, with computers and stacks of homework, and watched the election process.

We stared at the TV screen...
Looked like a bunch of nerds with all our books...
Rooted for Obama...
Laughed at Melissa with her Obama sticker...
Were so very proud of everyone who voted, and excited at 11pm eastern when the CA polls were closing...
We screamed out loud when they announced Obama was elected...
And screamed some more when we realized that Obama will sign our diplomas when we graduate...
And teared up when Obama gave his speech...
And were proud of DC and California for voting for Obama...
And grinned when we realized that our lives were changing for the better!
What a night, what a night!

My Birthday!

I know it has been 2 weeks since my birthday, but I thought I might as well post pictures. Better late than never right?

So I decided I wanted to go to Chevy's for my birthday. Turns out they have them here in DC, but the only people who knew what it was grew up in California, odd.  It ended up being a HUGE group, 22 people.  Fitting since it was my 22nd birthday.  I wish we had taken a group picture, but somehow we spaced on that.  But here are some pictures from the night:

(some of us!)
(and some more!)
(girlies with birthday margaritas!)
(yay for birthday desserts at Chevy's---and the ridiculous birthday sombrero)
(somehow my mom figured out how to get the cafeteria to bake me a cake, I got to pick it up on my birthday, yum!)
